Join the Doughboy Foundation this May and June for a series of patriotic events at the National WWI Memorial in Washington, D.C., as we honor those who served and kick off a summer of remembrance. On May 18, we invite you to attend the annual Flanders Memorial Commemorative Event at 5:00 p.m. Held in partnership with honored guests, this ceremony commemorates the soldiers who died in the Great War and the symbolic red poppy of Flanders Fields. It is a moment of deep reflection in the heart of the nation’s capital.

Memorial Day weekend will feature a powerful tribute through our partnership with the Trust for the National Mall. On Monday morning at 8:00 AM, Notes of Remembrance:  Taps Across the National Mall will fill the air as Taps is sounded at the National World War I Memorial. This tribute will happen in unison at 15 additional memorials across the mall, creating a unified landscape of gratitude and reflection to honor our fallen heroes.

The commemoration continues as the Doughboy Foundation takes to the streets for the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C. starting at 10 a.m. with opening ceremonies at 9 a.m.   Keep an eye out for the Doughboy Foundation float, which serves as a moving tribute to the 4.7 million Americans who served in the Great War. We are proud to participate in this annual tradition, bringing the history of the Doughboys to life for thousands of spectators along Constitution Avenue.

As the season shifts, we invite you to join us for the return of our popular summer programming. The Summer Concert Series at the National World War I Memorial kicks off on June 25, 2026 at 5 p.m. and this year’s opening is extra special. We are proud to present a special concert celebrating 250 years of American music, highlighting the nation’s rich history through sound as we approach the semiquincentennial of the United States of America. Join us on a journey of American music from the revolutionary war to battle hymns to the Raiders March and modern patriotic favorites.

The Summer Concert Series will take place every fourth Thursday in June, July, August, and September from 5 – 6 p.m..  Save the dates to experience an epic musical journey through time brought to you by the Doughboy Foundation. From the battlefield to the Broadway stage to jazz and swing, hear the songs that shaped history.

Be sure to follow the Doughboy Foundation on social media for the latest event updates and announcements. You can find all the necessary ticketing links and schedule details by visiting our official profiles on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and X.

Finally, we remind you that the Daily Taps program continues to sound daily at 5:00 p.m. EDT at the National World War I Memorial, honoring those who served and those who fell. These upcoming events provide special opportunities to connect, remember, and honor the legacy of the Doughboys. We hope to see you at the Memorial this spring and summer!
